Women, Men, our kids, adults, youth and children of our community has been talking about politics for the last one or more years. Our minds are being captured by political scenarios connected with our lives. Systematically arranging the topics which brought us here logically was, first the ruling system of the country then presidential election now the parliament next the councils and governors of our communities and what would be after that? The real question we should ask ourselves is where are we heading?
If anyone of us asks this question ourselves, "where we are heading?" then how would we answer? I am quite sure every one of you will have a guaranteed simple common answer. That is "We are heading for a CHANGE". My wild surprising guess is Former President Gayyoom will be having the same answer. It may not be in the aspect of most of us, but surely if he did not want a change there would be a friction which the speed of things happened then would be a little slow then our present speed. FACT is everyone in our community has wanted a CHANGE. Each of us wanted a change for ourselves the way we want. To make people believe the way you want is right and get the support for your idea is a challenge everyone is going through these days. Now wants of different people has been combined and formed common changes for these groups. We are heading for the changes of all these groups of different philosophies. Every group has a goal to achieve in order to fulfill these common needs.
Do these goals meet up with the Development of Thinadhoo? As most of the ideas gathered was a combination of everyone's brain work, the basics of what our island needs too is included. Affordable living, interconnected transportation, affordable housing, health care and control of drugs were MDP's principle five goals in the policies. Along with that we have heard the other two major parties calling in for a change. Dr. Hassan Saeed was calling in saying that he will demonstrate the legal system while Mr, Qasim was offering economic stability. The trust we gave in to parties has gone haywire.
Now what will happen next? I will say that we, the people will decide what we want as a change. For this reason non party candidates are more reliable. But the reliability in some of the independent candidates is less due to their capability in presenting what they will do as parliament members. We need candidates talking about what they will do. My challenge to other candidates is that I am very clear on what I need to achieve in the next five years being the parliament member.
I will bring in OPPORTUNITIES for Thinadhoo through international and local communications. I will defend the public in all the aspects including the depopulation by President Ibrahim Nasir in 1962. In next five years our homes shall not be raided for political reasons. If any such events occur we will put it in the parliament against the government and people who authorized it. I will not be a person to sit there and earn a fat salary and work for some party to promote their agendas. The promises not fulfilled by the government will be questioned on behalf of the people. This is a part which can only be played with enough courage and experience. I believe I can sacrifice my needs for the islanders of Thinadhoo. LET US CHANGE THINADHOO into a safe heaven for all of us. Let us change our attitude to support each other. Let us make Thinadhoo as a place of one single family in UNITY.
Walking on well paved roads, interconnected with Kaadehdhoo Airport, integrated with proper environment friendly transportation systems is a beautiful picture we can start viewing our minds. As well shopping in a Superstore with affordable goods which is directly unloaded to Thinadhoo international harbor is a dream for all of us. We also dream about everyone above eighteen years gets a job within the island. Sheltering ourselves in cozy homes bridged with all the modern communication systems and feeling the civil protection is not a dream we have stopped dreaming about. Each and every one of us has our own dreams to evolve their lives in the pictures we dream.
We spend our lives on achieving what we dream about. Most people in our community says don't dream big or dream what you can achieve. Where I don't believe it and history has proven it wrong. If you dream small your achievements are less. If you dream big then the achievement is greater. What we see around the world is what we and our past generations have dreamt about. If someone wants to be a doctor then he dreams and achieves it. The same philosophy applies to community. Question is how many people want to dream on common grounds where everyone can work on it.
"Sir Conrad Hilton" had carried a picture of the Waldorf in his wallet for years, dreaming of one day owning it. His dreams came true in In 1949.
When our society wants the change it will happen. What needs to be done is going on common grounds in visualizing what we want. If we need the easy transport systems, cozy shelters, proper economic stability with social security then we need to dream about it.
Dreaming is the process of thinking and when we think then we can talk about it. When we talk about our dreams others will hear it and slowly we will see the possibility of our dreams coming true. Let's gather our thoughts for Thinadhoo as the "Future New York of the Maldives"
What is said by President Anni usually proves to be the opposite most of the time in the past few years we have seen. He himself said it in the first press conference held as the transaction of office from Gayoom. Anni said "What we believed true has been slowly started be proven wrong in Gayoom's presidency"
As President "Anni" signs into office there have been an expectation of lots of change. Change for each and everyone's personal level expectation for change. This change was supposed to be united for everyone's individual interests through the UNITY we chose.
To achieve this goal "Present Government" has a huge burden on an economically unbalanced situation. That was one of the first news we had to hear from the government. After that government started seeking international funds. An official visit to India which was a successful trip. A visit to Italy, what was the real agenda?
Meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy Ms Stefani Craxi was a remarkable one. During the meeting, Ms Caxi stressed that Italian government was very interested in climate changes research and supported Maldives. We are a country so much interested in climatic issues its going to be a break through with latest technologies from Italy.
Ms. Caxi is the daughter of late Bettino Craxi who was the prime minister of Italy from 1934 till 2000. He died, as a fugitive from justice, Italy's Bettino Craxi had become one of the most discredited figures in Europe's recent history. Convicted in his absence of corruption on a vast scale, Craxi embodied a system in which parties, and individuals, grew rich through systematic bribe-taking. As the details were dragged into the light by the so-called Clean Hands anti-graft drive of the early 1990s, Craxi was famously pelted with coins.
President "Anni" specifically announced that corruption will not be tolerated open on public. What is said, is not said and what is not said, is said sometimes. Where are we heading now?
Another important issue is Vatican in Rome, Italy is where Pope Benedict resides. Could there be any link as rumors were gossiped in the last presidential campaign "Anni", is supported by Catholic Church for the change".
This blog is intended to share my thoughts with public who needs to see if my opinion is up to their expectation. Where we can have an open digital platform for me to understand your needs better and to serve you better as your parliament member. I believe Thinadhoo has a population where most of the intellectual youth to develop our island for future needs would be able to reach me through this virtual direct link to understand each other better.
